After graduating from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, Elías Benito-Arranz joined La Monnaie - CMRE Opera Studio in Brussels, where he completed his vocal studies under the guidance of Mr. José Van Dam.
Mr. Benito-Arranz recently made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Papageno in La Petita Flauta Màgica directed by Els Comediants, as well as making his debut at Teatro de la Zarzuela as Dux in La Dogaresa. Other operatic roles include Marcello in La Bohème (Opera on the Avalon, Canada and Teatro Jovellanos, Spain), Conte d’Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro (Bamberg, Germany), Argante in Haendel's Rinaldo (Valencia, Spain) Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (Jackdaws Festival, UK), Uberto in La Serva Padrona (Festival de l’Été Mosan, Belgium), Leporello in Don Giovanni (Amersham Festival, London) English Clerk, and other roles in Death in Venice (La Monnaie, Brussels). In 2013 he performed the role of Lesbo (Agrippina) at the Théatre des Champs Elysées alongside Ann Hallenberg, Vivica Genaux, Carlos Mena and Al Ayre Español conducted by Eduardo López Banzo
On the concert platform, Mr. Benito-Arranz is increasingly in demand as a Bach soloist, a composer by whom he has sung all the main oratorios under conductors such as Trevor Pinnock or Juan José Mena, among others.
He has performed as a soloist in concert halls and festivals in the UK, Belgium, Portugal, USA, Spain, France and Mexico with repertoire ranging from the early baroque to world premieres by living composers. Recent engagements include Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at the Auditorio Kursaal (San Sebastián) with the internationally acclaimed Orfeón Donostiarra and the OSE, a Spanish tour of Bach's Johannespassion with the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, and the same work under the baton of Josep Vila with Andorra's National Chamber Orchestra and the Orfeó Català at the Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona). In season 2014-15, he sung Die Schöpfung (Haydn) in Belgium and the Oratorio de Noël (Saint-Saëns) in Auditorio Baluarte (Pamplona, Spain), and Mozart's Requiem in Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona, Spain).
Mr. Benito-Arranz is a very keen and active recitalist, offering concerts at the MIM, and Palais Royale in Brussels, Fondation Royaumont (France), Fundación Marcelino Botín (Santander, Spain), the Mexican Institute in Washington D. C., the Virginia Arts Festival, Quincena Musical de San Sebastián in Spain, and Festival de Radio France et Montpellier as well as in Barcelona's Auditori.
This las season 2015-16, Mr. Benito-Arranz has made his debut as Escamillo (Prinzregententheater, München), as well as singing Marcello in La Bohème (Teatro Jovellanos, Gijón), Papageno (Gran Teatre del Liceu and Teatro Principal of Vitoria), and Pausanias in Chabrier’s Une education manquée (Teatro Arriaga, Bilbao).
Forthcoming engagements include his debut role as Belcore (Vitoria, Spain), Messiah with Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, and South America Tour with La grande Chapelle.
